Two in five disabled people suffer from loneliness

This week we came across this striking result from a survey of 10,000 people across the UK carried out by Belonging Forum.

Kim Samuel, co-founder of the Belonging Forum, said: “Our research, the first of its kind in the UK, identified acute issues including age, home ownership and gender. one of the hardest hit groups is people with disabilities. Among people with disabilities, being socially connected is associated with higher levels of self-rated mental health, health and satisfaction in life."
